Koh Samui General Information
Geography
Samui is located in the Gulf of Thailand on the opposite side of the southern peninsular from Phuket. Samui is characterized by quite beaches, powdery sand, green coconut trees and sincere people. Samui is about 35 KM.
awayfrom the coast of Surat Thani and 710 kms south of Bangkok. There are about 85 tropical neighboring islands but only four of them are inhabited. Samui is Thailand’s third largest island. It’s covered a total area of 247 SQ. KM. The width of the island is about 21 KM. and the length is around 25 KM. Two- third of Samui consists of mountains. with the highest peak ( Khao Yai ) located in the center of the island at 636 meters which were formed by granite and sandstone.

On the north : Pha- Nqan island and Gulf of Thailand
On the south : Ka- Nom district and Gulf of Thailand
On the east : Gulf of Thailand
On the west : Ban Don bay, Muang, Don Sak district
